Title: RE: VAJAVA vs CODE/400

There are many features in VAJ to avoid these problems. The only thing
is to know how to use them.

This if you just clic on ok it will show you were is the problem.

Then, when you type something like if () and CTRL + SPACE
it put the { } for you, according the configuration you have choosen

(by default if it if/while/for() {

}

But you can change the configuration like:

if ()
{
}

VAJ immedialty applies it for you.

You can also check your () or {} are well closed.
In your case you could have found if there was a missing ) or }

You just have to position your cursor after the opening ( { and double clic on
it, it will show you all the block concerned.

It is true that first time you use VAJ you are a bit lost. But we are few
developpers to have used diffent IDE's. We would now only choose VAJ.
It is just a question of personal preference.

Cheers

Gilles

Subject: RE: VAJAVA vs CODE/400

OK, here we go again. I must be a masochist. I'm trying VAJAVA again. I've
just spent 2 hours editing code in a class. This class I copied from
another class with the Reorganize --> Copy option. The source class worked.
I compiled and ran it within VAJAVA. BTW My learning classes are just
mutations of the previous class adding new techniques. So back to my
quandary. I add a few methods to this class and tried to save it. I get an
error dialog that says: "An error occurred while saving ScreenTest07: An
error occurred while parsing source code due to expecting )." The only
response is OK. I, for the life of me cannot find an unbalanced parenthesis
anywhere in this class. There are no visible problems in the problem pane.
Shouldn't I at least get a clue where the problem is? This is a relatively
small class. What happens if there is a big one.

This is why I'm getting so frustrated with VAJAVA.
