It means you like compact code. ;-) They order of operation is this: 1) new date in constructored --> new java.util.Date() - because its in parenthesis 2) a new String is constructed with the temporary date --> String.valueOf(tempDate) - again, because of parenthesis 3) the getlbDate method is called (because its first). - there are no parameters to this method call. - this returns some object that has a setText method on it 4) The object from getlbDate has its setText method called (because its second) - the temporary String (from #2) is passed into this call Stringing methods together like this just allows the output from one to be input to the next. How are the two methods related? Thanks so much for your help!
