Sorry, I don't know if I can help. The Toolbox JDBC driver uses "fixed" ports. That is, the driver always connects via port 8471 unless someone edits the host port table on the AS/400 and restarts the host servers. To get the dynamic behavior you see someone would have to end the server, edit the table, then restart the server between each connection. I doubt if that is happening. The dynamic port you refer to must be for something other than the connection between the Toolbox JDBC driver and the database host server. We have WebSphere App Server on one AS400 and DB2 Datebase is on another AS400. WebSphere App server is in DMZ zone. There is Firewall between These two servers. We are successfully able to Signon to that Server through our application using AS400 Toolkit SignOn service. The Problem is we are not able to get the JDBC Connection and not able to Create the Connection pool for that database because of the Firewall. Can anybody tell WebSphere API uses which port to create the JDBC connection Pool. The Driver is AS400 Driver (com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver). Thanx in advance. I will be waiting for the Reply.
