Thanks lot for your quick response, we went through the document before and we had already opened port 8471 through firewall, however we had observed that, it uses dynamic ports ( > 5010 ) for each SQL connection between our Websphere server and database server
Is there any configuration / set up in JDBC driver files to use "static port" instead of dynamic ports for SQL connections
Thanks for your quick response
Regards

A list of ports needed for each Toolbox service is listed at

Subject: JDBC Port issue AS400 toolbox JDBC driver URGENT
Hi,
We are having some issue regarding the JBDC request from Websphere
to As400 server. We have WebSphere App Server on one AS400 and DB2 Datebase
is on another AS400. WebSphere App server is in DMZ zone. There is Firewall
between These two servers. We are successfully able to Signon to that
Server through our application using AS400 Toolkit SignOn service. The
Problem is we are not able to get the JDBC Connection and not able to
Create the Connection pool for that database because of the Firewall. Can
anybody tell WebSphere API uses which port to create the JDBC connection
Pool. The Driver is AS400 Driver (com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver).
Thanx in advance.
I will be waiting for the Reply.
Thanx,
Pavan/Atif
