Hi Frances. I just went through this with a customer. It turns out the "latest" IBM info said to no longer apply the group ptf but to apply other e-fixes by program instead. This info came from the AS/400 WebSphere site. IF QEJBADMIN fails I think the smartest thing is to try to analyze the problem. In my case it turned out the default timeouts in WebSphere were wrong for our network. WebSphere has a LONG way to go in how it manages and reports errors ... It does work well once it is correctly setup and running .... Jim Mason Message text written by INTERNET:JAVA400-L@midrange.com > I can't really say why your order is not complete. If I find someone who knows, I will let you know. I am very sorry that these trials and tribulations are happening. Of course, I know you don't want me to spend my time tracking down your PTFs - you want me to keep working on helping to port the next release of WebSphere to the iSeries :-). One thing though (I didn't say anything before because you had already placed your order): The WebSphere group PTF will always include the latest Java400, DB2400, and IBM HTTP Server (NOT powered by Apache) group PTFs. So you don't need to order those in addition to our group. That is part of the dynamic nature of our group PTFs. Once the powered by Apache HTTP Server is no longer in beta, we will probably include that as well (but no guarantees as of right now). To see what a group PTF includes, go to http://as400service.rochester.ibm.com/supporthome.nsf/document/10000031 , click on All group PTFS by release, and then expand the link for your OS/400 release. Then click on the link for group PTF you are interested in. You will see something like this (this is SF99142): (I am sure the formatting is going to be really bad once I send this). On the 19th I got a response saying "thanks for your order, if there are no problems, we'll be shipping shortly". So I waited. Monday I got the stuff. I started installing today - in fact, I finished the install only to realize I had gotten only the following: The cum (C1100450), and the following groups: SF99035, 36, 37 and 105. I'm missing SF99068, 96 and 142. There are order numbers which are almost contiguous on each CD, starting with B8279025 and continuing with 28, 29 and 32, but no explanation as to how to check on my orders, no notice why some were shipped and others weren't, or anything. The cum is a completely different order, and has a different order number, B8277230. I should obviously have checked my order before applying, but that's moot now. What I don't know is whether I should re-order the group PTFs I didn't get, or whether there's a way I can check on them, or what? I'll wait a day or two and see if the others show up. If not, I guess I'll reorder. At least we're getting there, but it's pretty amusing (in a black comedy kind of way) that the PTFs I didn't receive are the ones I definitely was counting on. > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-java400-l@midrange.com > [mailto:owner-java400-l@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Frances Stewart > Sent: Thursday, April 19, 2001 6:46 AM > To: JAVA400-L@midrange.com > Subject: Re: Can't keep QEJBADMIN running > > > > Joe, > The for the more general case of the MCH74A0, you should look at the > contents of any QPRINT spooled files associated with the > QEJBADMIN job, and > more importantly (if it exists) the contents of file > /QIBM/UserData/WebASAdv/default/logs/tracefile.
