RE: Websphere 3.0.2 to 3.5

Daniel -
        I just went through a migration from 3.02.2 to 3.5.3.   The
documentation is in good shape.  Make sure you have WAS 3.5, and the group
PTF to get to WAS 3.5.3 (on site before you start) and that your CUM's are
at or beyond the specified minimum level.
Follow the process to the letter and you should be ok.   You can load the
Migration Utility in advance and do the export in advance, save off your
application IFS directories.
Doing the upgrade, migration imports, and the Application Console install
and upgrade took me about 5.5 hours.  
I had some problems with the imports and QSH only because I was trying to
force the CLASSPATH to what I thought it should be, and once I just ran
things as the document said I was fine.

It looks like we are finally going to take the plunge and upgrade to
Websphere 3.5  I have the docs from the web that outlines what to do.  

I have two questions to the IBM folks and/or the other shops that have gone
this route...

First, are there any "gotchas" that aren't on the IBM migration document
(which appears quite exhaustive) that folks found as they were migrating...
Also, how long did it take to complete the migration?

Second, we don't have a great deal of applications running on Websphere
(although several of the ones we do have are pretty important), so it would
be fairly trivial to store them off to a PC, wipe out WAS 3.0.2 and install
WAS 3.5 (not sure if I can even do this... :-) ) without any migration
issues.  Is there any merit to this approach?
