Re: Java Write to IFS

The edtf command does code page translation, based on the file attributes
(which includes CCSID).

Depending on how you access data on the PC side, this won't happen.

You can look at the CPY command and see if you can get the data translated
and use a different file to access it from the PC side.

I'm a little confused here. though.  Java/400 normally writes to ASCII code
pages (e.g. 819 or ISO 8859-1 in the US).

Did you override this attribute (file.encoding I think it is) when you ran
Java?

Or, did you somehow instruct your tools on the PC side to somehow expect
EBCDIC and read actual ASCII?

In any case, look into the attribute file.encode (I think it is) so you can
control the code page Java uses to whatever you want.
