In retrospect, I agree with you 100%, Paul!  But you're "in the know."  There 
are many
folks in our industry that don't know (or care) about the history of our chosen 
profession
and the machines on which we work!

I'm sorry, but referring to Alan Turing as `a British guy' is like referring
to Thomas Edison as `an American guy'!  Turing is one of those names that
should never need to be qualified.
