SELECT COLUMN_NAME FROM SYSCOLUMNS WHERE TABLE_NAME = 'TAB1' and TABLE_SCHEMA='KULACK' ORDER BY ORDINAL_POSITION would be useful too 8-) In actuality, its hard to say which is faster to execute, but this one ends up being MUCH nicer because it can be a SINGLE prepared statement, and if you replace 'TAB1' and 'KULACK' with your parameter marker (question mark), all you do is setString() for each and execute it. I.e. you don't prepare and execute every time, you prepare 1 time, and setString(), setString(), execute() every time. This is a bigger savings.
