If it is 3.0.2 or higher, you may be having this problem because the application server runs under the QEJBSVR user profile by default, and that profile is shipped without a password. You can set a password for QEJBSVR and see if that helps. I believe the Toolbox connection requires that the user profile being used have a password. Dan, Thank you for your Info, Basically the problem was with the version of websphere we had. It was not recognizing the AS400 class. I was able to get it working, If i supply the userid and password. but it does not work when I use *current as the userid and password. Do you have any suggestions. Where do you logon to the AS/400. When you create a new as400 object there are 3 constructors. by setting the conn to null and creating a new as400 WITHOUT connection info. Only catch a general Exception and print the Exception variable. This will help debug the error.
