From my experiments it appears that OVRDBF redirects stdout from the QSH
command but not from the RUNJVA command. But please post code that works
for you.

A while back, someone suggested using OVRDBF to redirect stdout to a file (I
send it to QTEMP). I can provide code if you need it...

Sounds like that help.....

Fellow Programmers:

I have found that if a Java application is run under the JAVA/RUNJVA CL
command, and it has no "System.out" output, a line of output is printed
(simply telling you that the Java program has completed) either on the Java
Shell screen (on an interactive job) or into a spool file (on a batch job,
which is
the case for the problem at hand).
