The innerHTML property of the table data element will return the html
between the start and end tags, which would normally be the text:

           function loadPage(td) {
             newWindow = window.open('itmdtl.asp?div='+ division.innerHTML
+ '&itm=' + td.innerHTML);
           }

division is the id of a <span>. td is the "this" pointer of a table data
element.
