Create a data source for the Access database using ODBC in the system menu as this will use a JDBC to ODBC bridge. The data source must reside on the same machine as the Access database. The Java program will use that ODBC data source even if it's on a different machine. Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver"); Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:xxxxx"); These statements have to be in a try-catch block. The xxxxx represents the data source name. If it's on another machine then you need to specify that machine plus the data source name. If it's password protected, then you can include user id and password as parameters in the connection statement. BTW - connection to a SQL Server database is exactly the same except for the data source.
