You might also try CHGCURDIR to change your current directory to /java/user/projects. A couple of things to look out for. Java is very case sensitative for directories, and it doesn't tell you that you have one wrong in the classpath. I finally gave up placing my objects anywhere but /home/userid. Java seems to be pretty stupid when it comes to libraries. You can try to add it to the classpath using a ":" colon to separate the last entry with your new one, but I couldn't get it to work either. Try this: use command CRTDIR DIR(/home/"userid") where "userid" is your AS400 userid. Then move the .CLASS and .JAVA to this folder. The javac should work. -----Original Message----- From: Mike Perez [mailto:MPEREZ@grinfire.com] Sent: Monday, May 22, 2000 1:22 PM To: Java400 (E-mail) Subject: path problem I'm another java newbie, and I'm having trouble running a simple program on the as/400. I created the CLASSPATH variable and it points to the jt400.zip file. The source sits in a folder called projects(/java/user/projects) and I was able to compile it using javac in QShell. The error I get when I try to run it is: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: /java/user/projects/Test though I can see the Test.class file in the projects folder using Win Explorer. I feel my CLASSPATH needs to include /java/user/projects, but don't know how to add it. What am I missing?
