What I'm looking for is a tool >that I can point at a databse and have it generate the class and all the >get/set methods. The ET tools do that _but_ also generate a whole >bunch of other "stuff" - including a requirement for a 400 connection - >that I just don't need. You should be able to write this yourself. I am planning a project where I prompt for an AS/400 file, query the system catalog for the file, use the results (fields with attributes), create a similar file on a SQL Server database and then load the data from the AS/400 file into the SQL Server file. In your case, you should be able to take the result set and write a stream file that represents the variables with the appropriate getters/setters (.java source code). I wouldn't think it would be too difficult.
