Just thought I'd spread this info:
I am using the javamail & activation classes to send email from java on the
400. Everything works great (great examples, thanks Sun), but one thing to
note:

The activiation classes will NOT work if the program senging the mail is
optimized to level 40.
It seems the program needs to be level 30 or lower. If you use level 40 you
will get this exception:

MessagingException: Sending failed;
  nested exception is:
        javax.mail.MessagingException: IOException while sending message;
  nested exception is:
        javax.activation.UnsupportedDataTypeException: no object DCH for
MIME
 type multipart/mixed; boundary="...
