And while I was able to use Mr. Hockemeyer's comments as a springboard to what I hope was a somewhat more on topic post, I agree that the tone of his post was less than appropriate for this forum, which is, after all, the JAVA400L mailing list as opposed to the VBASIC mailing list. Then again, perhaps Gene had a bad day. If I were a Visual Basic programmer, I'd be looking at Java in the same way that an auto worker looks at a construction robot, and I'd be doing everything I could to discredit the language. Because, frankly, VB jobs (and RPG-CGI programming jobs) are in many cases going to be supplanted by Java. But then again, that's fuel for a completely DIFFERENT debate <grin>.
