JavaTM Transaction Service (JTS) (definition from
SUN)
Specifies the implementation of a transaction
manager which supports JTA (JavaTM Transaction API) and implements
the Java mapping of the OMG Object Transaction Service (OTS) 1.1
specification at the level below the API.
In other words, distributed transactions in EJB
application servers (like Websphere Enterprise or BEA Weblogic) are
handled by the CORBA OTS interface standard. It is a services that
you vvcan qualify as a "transition
coordination".
On the AS/400, Websphere 2.0.2 is available at this
stage in an Advanced version but without CORBA which is part of the
Enterprise version (not available on the AS/400). So I do not think
that JTS is natively available on the AS/400.
Maybe an alternative would be to use another
Application Server on another platform like UNIX or NT, and use JTS
to access the AS/400?
Regards
Serge
