Ketan, Don't know if this will help but I might suggest looking up information about doing what is referred to as distributed program call. One place you can look for an example is in the redbook titled "Accessing the AS/400 System with JAVA". The number of that publication is SG24-2152. It explains how to call an RPG program from within a Java program. Chapter 3 discusses the AS/400 Toolbox for Java which are a set of classes that you'll need to accomplish your goal. Most of the examples are shown using standalone Java programs but I think you can extract them out to your specific situation. A more immediate source of info might be the following URL: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/ic2924/info/java/rzahh/toolbox .htm This brings up a page on AS/400 Java information. In the left frame, click on the link labled "Access classes", in the resulting page on the right frame, arrow down and look for the link that says "Program call". Hope this is some help Tom H-C At 08:25 PM 08/04/1999 +0530, Ketan wrote: >Hi, >I am relatively new to java on AS/400 >anyway...i need some help on the following > > >We have some RPG IV programs(basically they are search engines which take in >some parameters and return a result set on the screen) > We are planning to make it web enabled(rather we have to). > So instaed of writing the complete code again in JAVA i m trying to explore >HOW i can do the same by calling a exsisting RPG program from a applet. > > >any help on the above will be highly appreciated. > >Regards > >Ketan >ICIL India. > +--- | This is the JAVA/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to JAVA400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to JAVA400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to JAVA400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner: joe@zappie.net +---
