John, the command

ECHO %CLASSPATH%

will display the current classpath on the screen.  I don't know of a particular
limitation on the length of the classpath, although I try to keep it reasonably
short.  The classpath variable looks to me to be one of those areas where things
can get messy; like library lists on the AS/400, too much of a good thing can be
a real pain to decipher.
