Hi Ken we have been playing with servlets since it first came out on the 400 at IGNITe/400 and a few thoughts. 1/ Don't expect a lot of help in the current documentation to get things going. 2/ IBM are working on point 1 :) 3/ At the moment personally I feel that Websphere is the future on the AS/400 but not the now. When it works its really good we managed to take a servlet written for NT/UNIX platforms and get it to run on the 400. Its a search engine driven through servlets. We had a few issues in that the 400 is more stringent in the code it will run but its proof of the power servlets bring in portable code. The site is http://search.ignite400.org. It does have problems though and one of the difficult parts in Websphere is trying to find things that break and work out why. 4/ Its a good concept and IBM Software group need to learn how to push the product have a look in the forum at IGNITe for some of the conversations we have been having with IBM with regard to this. 5/ Luther has a lot more knowledge and the servlet front and can give a lot more hands on advice. Thanks Bleddyn http://www.ignite400.org/ your AS/400 Internet/Intranet questions answered. -----Original Message----- From: owner-java400-l@midrange.com [mailto:owner-java400-l@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Ken Yamasaki Sent: Wednesday, March 24, 1999 05:05 To: JAVA400-L@midrange.com Subject: Servlet and WebSphere Hello All, I want to know how many Website runs Java Servlet. And I want to know how many Website runs WebSphere on AS/400.
