I suggest you check with Weblogic (http://www.weblogic.com). You may be
aware that a recent IBM announcement said that their Tengha product is the
Enterprise Java Beans server of choice for the AS/400. This combined with
Javasoft's 'Portable ORB'  or Java IDL
http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/idl/index.html for linking to external
objects might do the trick.
