        It turns out that I was bouncing messages back to the midrange list due
to some e-mail problems on my side.  As for this mailing list, I think
you will find the discussion regarding JAVA potential going on between
Chris Rehm, Vern Hamberg, Buck Callabro, and several others to be very
informative.  I have not participated much in the conversation however I
read all their messages closely and appreciate the time they devote in
educating the rest of us.  I don't think alot of people are doing much
JAVA development as of yet which is why there does not seem to be many
technical questions regarding the AS/400 platform.  Finally, there are
quite a number of newsgroups regarding JAVA programming that you may
want to take a look at if you have any specific questions that are not
being addressed.  Among the few:  comp.lang.java.programmer; 
comp.lang.java.gui;  comp.lang.java.softwaretools; 
comp.lang.java.security.
