I've also been looking into setting up RPG/COBOL routines as webservices in another application and have had some success with tests generating xml output from an RPG routine accessed through an application server I set up in WAS.
This got me wondering about the pros/cons of EGL handling webservices vs calls directly to i-based RPG/COBOL routines.
