The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

Don't laugh at this question. It will demonstrate ignorance on my part. :)
I'm in the very early stages of some warehouse automation. Looking at
access points and handheld computers.
If we had wireless handhelds with 5250 emulation, I *could* write RPG
code to drive whatever applications I would choose to write. But
suppose I want to take another route. EGL generates either COBOL or
Java. I have no Java knowledge whatsoever. Could RDI SOA be used to
generate Java which is then run by the handheld and therefore have a
richer interface than 5250 emulation? With DB2 on System i record level
access? And this would be a lot easier and faster to learn for a lone
wolf like me?
Thanks.
