You do NOT need to remove FP5 prior to install 8.5.3....

Each VERSION of Domino installs as a unique Product.
As such FixPack or Hotfix are installed ONLY to that unique version.

I have R8.0.2 FP5 installed on V6R1.

I am planning to upgrade to R8.5.3 so that we can upgrade to V7R1.

Do I need to uninstall FP5 prior to installing R8.5.3 ?

I plan to permanently apply PTF's before going to V7R1, but was informed
to
not permanently apply hot fixes.
