No a Hot Fix is not the same as a Fix Pack. I've never removed or
permanently applied Lotus Fix Packs before doing an upgrade, like going to
8.5.3. If you have a Hot Fix those I believe need to be removed, but not
a Fix Pack.

Subject: Is a domino fixpack the same as a hotfix?
Sent by: domino400-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx

I have R8.0.2 FP5 installed on V6R1.

I am planning to upgrade to R8.5.3 so that we can upgrade to V7R1.

Do I need to uninstall FP5 prior to installing R8.5.3 ?

I plan to permanently apply PTF's before going to V7R1, but was informed
to
not permanently apply hot fixes.
