looking over your earlier comments it may be that you already have this
set.
- it applies for Internet Authentication Only
- its on the Security Tab of the Server doc,
- in the section labeled [Internet Access]
- you want "more name variation with lower security"
effectively it allows for authentication lookups into the Views that index
Shortname values as well as the fullname values

AJ - I looked in my server doc but don't see any parameters that refer to
name variations - could you be more specific as to where to check this in
the server doc?

I did add a second short name to my person doc and it seems to work as I'd
hoped.

I just hope to prevent any unnecessary fallout should I attempt this
change for all 600+ users.
