Thank you everyone. This was very helpful. I think we are going to try
restoring it to a different directory, because I think it will be the
least confusing to the user (and she is quite easily confused). I guess
it will create more work for us but at least I don't have to listen to the
complaints about the old mail being there.

and what happens if a replica fires off? That's why we stick it off
server.

We restore them to userid2.nsf & then add them to the ACL for that file.
Then just have them go into that mailbox & copy/paste whatever they want.

We have a user that wants their sent folder from May of this year.
We have restored the userid.nsf file before but always when the user was a
past employee.
This user is still employed here.
The question is: If we restore the file onto the server will this
replicate down to the client and cause loss of current e-mail?
Will it replicate just what is not there?
Is it a better practice to restore the userid.nsf file to userid2.nsf and
use the Administrator client to forward them to the user?
Any help will be appreciated.
