The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
1 - Archive. Well, just because you archive their email doesn't mean they
cannot access it. We archive our users email to another server so it's
still online. Makes the saves, compacts, etc on the primary server run
faster. The goal was to get cheaper disk on the archive server. But the
performance of the Windows platform was no where near comparable to our 90
disk arm i so the archive server was moved back to the i.
2 - IXS. We were a big IXS shop. Had 9 in one lpar. Until IBM dropped
support for most IXS cards (and all of ours) on power hardware. Tried
iSCSI but couldn't get the performance. Went to NetApp.
3 - We use a Blackberry server running on a Windows based Domino server.
Boss and others think it's great. A coworker, whose opinion I value, said
that the blackberry is great if you are doing more emailing than phoning.
But if it's vice versa, keep the Treo. She went back to Treo. I stayed
on Treo.
