Hi Jerry,
SCHED handles schedule information in busytime.nsf in Domino versions prior
to ND7. In 7.x the RNRMGR task takes over the management of the resource
reservation database.
You might issue a TELL SCHED QUIT command to bring it down and see if that
frees up your CPU issue, then LOAD SCHED to get it going again.

I noticed this morning that my SCHED task, via the green screen wrkactjob
shows significant CPU % (>40), and is also in a constant RUN status. It
has been this way for almost three hours. Consequently the overall CPU has
been hovering around 99.9.
But when I look in the domino server admin application, (Server, Status,
Server Tasks,) it shows the Schedule Manager as idle, but with a 40.5% CPU
utilization.
Why the difference and what could be causing this type of behavior? I'm
pretty diligent about monitoring this stuff so I know that this is not
normal behavior.
Nothing recent in terms of PTF's or server config changes that I'm aware
of...
Also I'm not entirely sure what does the SCHED task does?
There is one thing I did do this morning and that was empty a user's
(neglected) email inbox of 7087 emails (all were spam). Could this be
related to the SCHED activity?
Regards, Jerry
