Full-Text Indexing


We appear to be on track to roll out a product that interfaces with mail
files the Domino server via IMAP.  My experimentation indicates that IMAP
(or at least this product) requires full-text indexing to be running, in
order to access mail messages.  Until a message is indexed, it is invisible
to the third-party product, so naturally everyone thinks that their
indexing should be set to Immediate.

Am I justified in being concerned with this scenario?  Are there any
recommended optimizations for the server to minimize the impact of this
indexing?  I'm already seeing processor utilization climb, but I'm not sure
how I can prove that it is due to this product.

AS/400, iSeries, i5, System i (take your pick) V5R3
