Do you have any scheduled tasks that run that evening that don't run on
other days of the week? Something that might be unwilling to shut down in
a timely enough manner to suit BRMS? I know we moved some of our
scheduled tasks up an hour to avoid the server trying to shut down for
backup in the middle of the scheduled task.

Subject
Weird Shutdown Behavior for Backup

I guess I spoke too soon regarding my comment about FP3 or 7.0.1, and that

I've had 7.0 running for almost two months with little or no problem.

We have a single Domino R7.0 server used primarily for mail and a few
document databases, (nothing fancy - nobody does replication of anything
except myself). However, one weird behavior has become a 'weekly'
occurrence.

We recently began using BRMS and end the domino server in a controlled
manner at the beginning of the backup. Odd thing is that every Thrusday
evening, just before midnight, my miscellaneous log doesn't show the
shutdown of the domino server. It just cuts out at 23:59:xx and then the
next log begins an hour and 45 minutes later when the server restarts
(after backup has completed). According to the programmer in charge of the

BRMS operation, the same command is issued every evening for the backup -
hence the odd behavior as this problem only occurs, usually, on Thursday
evenings.

Review of the NSD's shows little to go by other than the last entry in the

NSD which states something similar to the following:

Fatal Error signal=0x00000001 JOB=EVENT/QNOTES/524441
PID/TID=1144/0x000000
0c

It's always the EVENT job that appears to trigger the problem, and that's
about the only clue I can consistently apply to the problem.

Anyone with any ideas before I call support?

Regards, Jerry
