Ah, I just misread your intent.

The behavior sounds similar to ours though, to be honest, I'd have been 
thrilled with only 35% on my SMTP.  None of my client workstations could 
access the server because the CPU being taken by SMTP (and sometimes, 
SERVER) was so high.  Once it had passed its latest problem message, it 
would behave for a while - sometimes an hour, sometimes four.  Very 
intermittent behavior.

Thanks Patrick...We are on V5R3 and the Notes server is our main iSeries. 
I
was not going to IPL, I was just going to do an ENDDOMSVR and restart it
and see if that took care of it. We have been on V5R3 a long time as well
as on this version of Notes. I have noticed now that after I receive the
email, the CPU % does go down.
