Once you have installed a multi-version capable release, domino servers can remain active during installation of new licensed code. Just shut 'm down before running upddomsvr. That's one of the big pluses of multi-versioning. Recently we upgraded our production environment of 18 domino servers (4 iSeries 820 with 4-5 DPARS each) from 6.5.3 to 6.5.4. Thanks to multi versioning, the upgrade was done with just 20 minutes domino downtime.
