A tad off the original message...
a notes upgrade will install to the location
of the previous install and if your goal is to
use a multi user setup, it will be messed up
unless the previous install was set that way

Re: How to migrate to a new pc - problem solved

Ah. Whenever we work on a workstation here, we have to check to see if
Notes is installed in the old location (c:\lotus) or the new location
(c:\program files\lotus). I don't remember what release of the client
started defaulting into the Program Files directory, but I believe it was
a
change on the part of the Notes client installer.

Glad you figured it out,
Patrick

So a weird occurrence conspired againsts us.

Seems that the original notes install was in the root of c: on the old pc
and also on the new pc.

WinXP in it's infinite wisdom (by default) when the user did the
re-install, installed the notes into c:\program files.... boy that really
confused notes as shortcuts, the ini file, startup menu options were
pointing to different directories, and without the proper id file, desktop
etc... it sure confused the heck out of that intel processor...

So the install is now in one location and all the files are there too and
(for now) everyone is happier.

Thanks again for the respones - HAPPY FRIDAY

Regards, Jerry
