IF SSL works in a regular networking environment, it would then be a CISCO
3000 VPN Concentrator issue.

subject: Domino Web Access problem
R6.5.1and my mail data base has been upgraded to ODS43. OS/400 is V5R2.
We installed a cisco 3000 vpn for remote access to our network.
I have the cisco vpn ip/sec client loaded on my pc at home as well as the
notes 6.5.1 client. When connected via the vpn client I can use my notes
client and all is well. I can also use my IE6 browser (via win2k sp4, with
all current updates) and access notes via Domino Web Access.
So far so good, however, the vpn also allows access via my browser using
ssl. I can use this 'feature' and access the network, and use a few other
brower based applications, however when I attempt to use DWA, after I log
in, and after about a minute, I get the following error:
"Domino Web Access Warning. Sorry, we are unable to process your request
at this time. If you are unable to continue working in your mail file,
please dismiss this warning and then select View, Refresh from your
browser's menu."
I click on ok and the outline of DWA appears, and then the message appears
a few more times, and after the message goes away, I can see some of the
tabs for mail, calendar, to-do etc...
But when I start DWA I cannot make this error go away and still cannot
access the mail or my preferences. I can view my calendar data though.
(How odd is that?)
I'm stumped. I've tried adding the vpn and domino server to my trusted
sites. Cookies and java script are enabled in my browser. I even changed
the acl in my mail file, under advanced properties to give manager access
when accessed via the internet. I changed the server config doc to not
compres HTTP response data. The Domino 6 forum has many posts regarding
this message but so far, all my attempts to rememdy this have failed.
Anyone experiencing similar problems or have any suggestions?

That message usually indicates a network timeout. The browser did not
receive the expected request from the server in time. Odd that you only
see that when using SSL. You might try a trace on the client to see what
the response times look like.
