1) Getting lots of abend's and nsd's when running pupdate. I ALWAYS run pupdate with the -debug option. Creates a file in your data directory smlog/pattdnld.dbg End of file may look something like: readoldval ItemName = $Revisions Patternbuild == 0 Error for mkdir tempdir = /QUALITY2/NOTES/DATA/smln/scanengine/downloadtemp Error from Active update Scanengine = Generic source network failure readpattern is = 195300 tmpstr is = 953.195300 Set the current pattern to = 953.195300 Error from Active update pattern = åÁ>ÁÊÑÄ Ë?ÍÊÄÁ >ÁÈÏ?Ê, Ã/Ñ%ÍÊÁ Error from Active update spam pattern = åÁ>ÁÊÑÄ Ë?ÍÊÄÁ >ÁÈÏ?Ê, Ã/Ñ%ÍÊÁ ************End of Data******************** 2) Known problem if you send notifications when new pattern files, or new scan engines are downloaded. If you send the notifications to more than one person. I am downloading a file from their ftp site that is named SMLN2.6SP1_Hotfix_(EN)_AS400_B1557.zip and takes 19521663 bytes. Of course their ftp site ends with .ph http://www.andrewu.co.uk/tools/domaincountries/default.asp Remember, not that you need it for pattern file downloads, but if you want scan engine downloads you need to give QNOTES *ALLOBJ authority. I found one potential workaround on the NSD's. Seems that once you have pupdate on a program document it tries to run it every time you restart the server. In that case I did a WRKOBJ *ALL/PUPDATE*. I renamed the two copies out there to PUPDATEB. Then I brought the server up and it worked. Used option 9 to make sure all tasks were up. Then I waited a couple more minutes. Then I did another WRKOBJ *ALL/PUPDATE*. I renamed them back. Then I did a load pupdate -debug and at least it doesn't down the server. Maybe it's just like how notes loves to play games with my notes.ini and concatenate lines. Perhaps trend likes to come up all the way before it runs a pupdate??? I'll keep you posted on the hotfix. We are putting 2.6sp1 on our cluster backup server. We still have 2.51 on our primary servers.
