OK, that narrows down potential issues a bit, I think. Addressing must be
working or you wouldn't be getting the password challenge. Question
becomes is the authentication failing (causing the error) or succeeding
(the error is opening the page itself)? Do you have a database on that
server that allows anonymous access? Can you open that database
successfully?
I'm not real good at this, so I'm hoping someone else weighs in with a
solution -- I'm just trying to help narrow the issue down.

I get the login and password prompt but then it bombs out. Mail is the
only database we are using there.
