Let me see if I've got you right. You HAVE to deploy the scan engine. However do you only need to worry about *SECOFR if you plan on having it automatically update the scan engine? Was that your question? That might be right. And to confuse an iSeries newbie, you can give it a user type of *SECOFR but not give it any special authorities, for example a user type of *SECOFR and special authorities of *NONE instead of *USRCLS, and I bet it bombs. I wonder just what special authority it needs, and why? And would it be better handled otherwise? I don't think it will have an effect on anything by changing it from *USER to *SECOFR, however, I know Lotus doesn't recommend changing anything with that profile.
