Chris: Are you running Domino 6.5 doing what Trend told you? I received an email from Trend last week & they said SMLN 2.6 would not be available until February. I dont get a warm-fuzzy feeling with the statement "Under these conditions, SMLN 2.51 with Patch 3 for AS/400 should be compatible with Domino 6.5." ... key work SHOULD..... :-( Steve Jones Chris Whisonant <Chris.Whisonant@ comporium.com> To Sent by: domino400@xxxxxxxxxxxx domino400-bounces cc @midrange.com mike.ostrowski@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx , stan.wilburn@xxxxxxxxxxxxx, james.hickerson@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 01/22/2004 11:01 m AM Fax to Subject Please respond to Trend Micro With Domino 6.5 Lotus Domino on the iSeries / AS400 <domino400@midran ge.com> I have been having an issue with the Trend ScanMail Repscan task. They actually have a hotfix for the known issue, and I'm also having a different problem with repscan that the technicians are working on. Had two crashes the other day because of it. If you want details of the hotfix (which should be applied to all systems according to the readme) just let me know. I am running v2.51 of ScanMail. Anyway, I mentioned in an email to tech support that I'm waiting to get ScanMail 2.6 so that it will work with iSeries. By the way, last I heard, ScanMail 2.6 should be out this month for iSeries, but until then the below steps should allow ScanMail 2.51 with patch 3 to work with Domino 6.5. Sure wish they would have made that available previously so I could have upgraded to 6.5 last year. Below is the response from Trend Support... We will keep you posted on their analysis. Question: Regarding your question on "I am really wanting to update my Lotus server to 6.5 and I am having to wait on SM for LN v 2.6SP1? to be released for the AS/400". Answer: Yes, we are in the process of developong still SMLN 2.6 that would be able to fully support Domino 6.5. However, until it is released, here are the steps for Domino 6.5 to be used with SMLN 2.51 just in case you push through in upgrading to Domino 6.5: To use Domino 6.5 with SMLN 2.51 for AS/400: 1. Install Patch 3 for ScanMail for Lotus Notes 2.51 for AS/400 ( smln251_patch3_as400.zip) from ftp://ftp-download.trendmicro.com.ph/Groupware/SMLN/ Username: ftpuser Password: ftp-trend 2. Install ScanMail at the same location where Domino has been installed. 3. Verify that libnotes is in the "correct" place - /qsys.lib/qnotes.lib/libnotes.srvpgm Note: Do not use the new multi-version option. Under these conditions, SMLN 2.51 with Patch 3 for AS/400 should be compatible with Domino 6.5. Hope this answers your inquiry. If you still have further inquiries or concerns with regard to this matter, please email us and we'll be glad to assist you. And if this discussion has clarified the issue, may we close this case? Thank you very much and we look forward to your reply. Have a nice day. Best regards, =================================================== Janelane A. On the OS/400 there is no way to change the free space for temporary files - it has single-level storage. That said, I have about 77% free space out of a total of 562 GB.
