That happens to us ALL THE TIME. We no longer use DLYJOB for more than 30
seconds. We do
ENDDOMSVR
DLYJOB (30)
Use the list jobs api to see if it is down
loop through the DLY and the list until either the job is dead or 15
minutes have passed. If 15 minutes rerun ENDDOMSVR but this time use
*IMMED. Repeat loop. If still not dead then take the info from the list
jobs api and email it. (of course that last sentence might be a
suggestion for a future mod). Want the code? I put it in a standalone
library to perhaps open source it. The way I get a list of Domino servers
probably needs to be modified to use official api's because I know at a
certain release of Domino and/or os/400 it dies (and that's all I have to
say about that).

An addendum - is it possible that Domino wasn't completely shutdown
before
I did CHGDOMSVR (even though the CL has a 10 minutes DLYJOB in it)?
