There is an option to just log. On the blacklisting function there is an option to paste, (which we use) a message that is variable driven. It says "Your host %s was found in the DNS blacklist at %s. Contact that web site to see why your host is blacklisted and what steps you can do to remove your site from the blacklist." We've NEVER gotten a call from a disgruntled trading partner. And, as you've seen from our statistics, roughly 50% of our mail was turning out to be spam. We decided to just jump in and go for it, and haven't been sorry in the least. We were temporarily blacklisted, and rightfully so. Then we turned off the open relay that Domino leaves there as a default. So I can see your concern. If we had received the above message we could have dealt with it faster. We would not have been upset. We just had to find the open relay and deal with it. If you're still blacklisted then you have some management issues that you need to deal with. Like firing the morons generating spam. What happens if the email was valid? I guess I'm worried about people getting blacklisted and having us bounce things incorrectly (which I know has happened).
