RE: Upgrade from R5 to R6 - disk growth

Yes, the size of the base design of the mail file did grow from 5 to 6.  Can't
remember exactly, but it was something like 2 to 4 times bigger.  That is for
the design only though.  So you should see an increase of a few meg, but not the
increase you experienced.
