Chris,

I have a sily idea to solve your problem. I think u should make some
changing on internet browser settings of those clients which doesn't work
properly. You should define for LAN connection "Bypass proxy server for
local addresses" option and then explicitly give the Domino server name
(or address) in the advance section. Perhaps it could help.

Regards,
LZ

Dear All,
Since upgrading OS400 from 4.4 to 5.1 I have been having
problems with Dominos HTTP server. When running an intranet application
some
users get a 'cannot find server or DNS error' message, if they then click
refresh they will get the page they were expecting. The strange thing is
that if we run a comms trace from SST the problem practically disappears.
I
have tried recreating the ethernet line description but this has made no
difference.
The Domino version is 5.010, the latest OS400 PTFs are applied (both cum
and
hiper).

Regards,
              Chris

Chris,

I've all but abandoned Domino's HTTP stack. If it's possible, I'd use the
Domino HTTP server plugin and use the 400's native HTTP server. It's much
more reliable.

You stated that running a Comm trace suppresses the condition. That would
suggest the follow PTFs are not applied.
