The -B is only available in R5.  I forgot to mention I am at 4.6.7.

Can you use the -B parameter?  That should free up disk space.  Without
it, unused space is made available for Notes, but doesn't free up disk
space.  (Kind of like reusing deleted records on a DB2/400 file.  The
space is available to reuse, but the file still takes up just as much
disk)

I have had an number of people 'archive' their mail to their local drives.
 I run "compact -S 10" every night.  Will this just compress the file on
the 400
or will it free up disk space.   Will I be forced to do a reclaim storage
in
order to regain disk space?
