Thanks for the replies.

Is it OK to install and test R5 on our AS/400 while 4.6 is being used on our
AS/400 in a production environment?

Will there be any or could there be any conflicts?

TIA

Nathan,

I resisited answering your 1st post re sticking with Domino after there
were some really good answers posted by others. The NT trial copy should
give you a good idea of the function and form of R5. The AS/400 version is
essentially the same. One of the great thing about R5 ( 5.0.8 and later
releases) is it gives you the option to use iNotes for Web Access. This is
something you really should look at.. Also, we find that administration
under R5 is considerably easier, but there is also a (measuable)
performance hit. I would not recommend upgrading from 4.6 to 5. I'd look
at a fresh installation.

I'll reiterate what others have said, email is email is email. There are
other advantages to Domino however.

Hi,

Previously I wrote asking whether or not we should stick with Domino.

Still not sure but want to have a look at R5.

I have downloaded an NT trial copy but would love to look at an AS/400
version and see how it goes. Just to get it on our box and see how it
performs.

We are running V4R5 of OS/400 can currently running 4.6 of Domino.

Is it safe to install the an R5 version onto our AS/400 without disruption
our current installation?

I never installed our 4.6 version. And the way it is setup at the moment
we
probably wouldn't care if we just started again and installed R5 and when
we
are ready to go, remove the 4.6 installation.

I just want to check it out without having to worry about disturbing the
users.

TIA

Nathan Simpson
