Scott I would have like to taken this route to begin with, I thought that it would be easier to write in Java, but I have one big problem: I know very little about Java or Java Agents. Would it be possible for you to send me some sample code? Could I also look in the Java books from IBM to help me with my syntax? Thank You for all your help! Thanks Troy C. Re: Passing string You could do this rather easily by having a Java Agent run that uses the Java Toolbox. You can have the form take the AS/400 command entered, pass it to the Java Agent, and then the agent would run the command 'directly'. This way all the work is done in Notes. Nothing would have to be done in the back-end or DECS. -- ------------------------------------------------------ Scott P. As it stands right now, I'm going to use DECS to put it in a database and have another RPGIV program waiting for this data all the time. (Theirs only one text box on the form and you have to enter an AS/400 command, then I need to the execute command on the 400). Now I'm having to write a dataque (on the 400) that waits for me to enter a command then it executes. I just didn't know how to kick off the RPG program when a command was entered (in the Notes form) without having a dataque running all the time on the AS/400. If you know of a way please let me know. _______________________________________________ This is the Lotus Domino on the iSeries / AS400 (DOMINO400) mailing list To post a message email: DOMINO400@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/domino400 or email: DOMINO400-request@midrange.com
