I was wanting to pass a string as a parameter to a RPGIV
program and let RPGIV do all the work. As it stands right
now, I'm going to use DECS to put it in a database and have
another RPGIV program waiting for this data all the time.
(Theirs only one text box on the form and you have to enter
 an AS/400 command, then I need to the execute command on
 the 400). Now I'm having to write a dataque (on the 400) that
waits for me to enter a command then it executes. I just didn't
know how to kick off the RPG program when a command was entered
(in the Notes form) without having a dataque running all the time
on the AS/400. If you know of a way please let me know.

Greetings Group

Can someone please help! I need to pass a string from a Notes text box to
the AS/400. Can anyone give me a clue on how to do
this?
Any and all comments will all be appreciated! PS I'm connecting to the 400
using DECS.

Thanks
