Bruce,
In the Domino Directory there is a configuration document. In that
document you can define a smart host. This is the IP address of a system
that domino should forward mail to if local but cannot be resolved.

I have just received a loaner 270 from IBM to test iNotes and Domino on
the 400. I am learning all I can an would benefit from your help.
Currently we are running M$ Exchange 2000. I can direct the mail from
our firewall to hit the Notes server but I then need it to forward any
mail it does not find a match on the notes server to the exchange
server. I want to test this before I go full speed on this. TIA
